Aquatic Therapy
Fitter Critters offers canine swimming (aquatic therapy) in the comfort of our heated indoor canine fitness jet pool or our underwater treadmill. In general, swimming helps to reduce limb edema (swelling) and improves: range of motion, muscle stretch, balance, general fitness, stamina, lung capacity and cardiovascular function.
Aquatic therapy is an excellent form of exercise that allows muscles, tendons and ligaments to move in a weightless environment without placing stress on bones and joints.
Aquatic therapy is helpful with:
• Hip dysplasia
• Preoperative conditioning
• Arthritis
• Spinal problems
• Most postsurgical procedures
• Fractures
• Traumatic Accidents
• Elbow problems
• Sport Injuries
• Neurological problems
• Weight problems
• Senior conditioning
Veterinarian approval is required prior to initiating aquatic programs.
